Welcome to our Resources Page
This is where I will share the results of my research into various areas of real estate investing. Unless otherwise noted, I have NO affiliate relationships with any of these resources. So if you click on any of the links here, I receive NO compensation of any kind. Also, I try to list the resources in alphabetical order within various categories so as not to show any favoritism.
Bigger Pockets
The very first resource that I would have to share is Bigger Pockets, a Website with over 755,000 new and experienced real estate investors helping each other become financially free. They have a podcast, a blog with a wealth of diverse contributors, and an active forum community. Check them out first.
Turnkey Rental Information & Resources
AKA Turn key or Turn-key
A fully renovated home or apartment building that an investor can purchase and immediately rent out. Turnkey properties are typically purchased from companies that specialize in the restoration of older properties. Those same firms may also offer property management services to buyers, minimizing the amount of time and effort an investor needs to put into the rental. These are particularly attractive to out of state investors.
Private Lending/Note Investing Information & Resources
These investments include issuing mortgage backed promissory notes to other investors to be used for property acquisition and rehab costs. They may also include seller financing to retail buyers. Pre-existing notes can also be purchased, sometimes at a discount. Even “partial” notes can be purchased by taking a limited number of payments on an existing note.
North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors (NTAREI)
North Texas Association of Real Estate Investors (NTAREI) is the professional trade association serving the independent real estate investors and landlords of the North Texas region.
Their mission is to “promote and support the success of our members, and to maintain the high professional standards of our industry, through networking, education, professionalism and advocacy in real estate investing”.
NTAREI functions (unlike most so-called “investor clubs”) as an actual trade association, not as a marketing extension of a private vendor (such as a real estate agency, lender, wholesaler, venture developer, etc.). Their sole focus and purpose is to serve the needs of investors (and those working to become investors), not to recruit them as prospective customers for a parent firm. (This also means that their costs of operation are not underwritten by a parent firm.)
